Electrophysiology

Electrophysiology is the science of elucidating, diagnosing and treating the electrical activities of the heart. Electrical impulses are spontaneously and repeatedly generated, and help optimise the pumping function of the heart. The heart’s rhythm is found based on the pattern and timing of electrical impulses. Cardiac arrhythmia or imbalance in the normal rhythm often damages the heart’s ability to pump enough blood to meet the body’s demands. A cardiac electrophysiologist treats the conditions that arise due to abnormalities of your cardiac rhythm.
