Reliance Hospital’s Blood Bank uses advanced techniques and cutting-edge equipment to process and screen blood and its components. We have:
- Column agglutination technology to perform immunohaematology tests—blood grouping, cross matching, antiglobulin test, etc.
- Obligatory screening for transfusion in transmissible diseases like HIV (1+2), HBV, HCV done with highly sensitive and specific CMIA method.
- Screening of all units for VDRL, malaria parasite and irregular antibodies
- An extra layer of blood safety through nucleic acid amplification test, a molecular test for HIV, Hepatitis B and C that a few centres in the country conduct.
- Aphaeresis is performed by Comtec Cell Separators.
